There's no easy answer that I know of to handle people randoming you. I used to get it at Victoria.
Maybe the guy at Warren St Tube had mental health issues. There are far too many of them dumped out in the street cos psychological services in NHS are so stretched.

You should be proud of your accent, it's who you are, it's part of you. I left the Hebrides 9 years ago and I still talk like a complete hillbilly and am proud of it.
Personally, I think loosing ones accent completely can be more of a mistake than a benefit. Where's the advantage in sounding exactly like everybody else? Vive la difference! That's my view. Regards. Steve. more…
